Peter David is Interested in Writing THE ORVILLE Novels
Peter David is a veteran writer of many great Star Trek novels and countless other sci-fi and fantasy related stories. So, when he posted on Twitter that he would be interested in writing some books based on Seth MacFarlane’s heavily Trek influenced sci-fi sitcom, The Orville, it came as little surprise. I just hope it actually ends up happening.

I think the show gets a lot of undue criticism. It may not be the best show, but it is far from bad. Its simply a semi clever childish comedy which is what fans of Seth expect.
I haven’t actually had a chance to check it out yet, but I’m a huge Star Trek and Galaxy Quest fan so it seems right up my alley. Plus, there are some actual writers from Star Trek working on the show.
Honestly if you like Star Trek and a cheap laugh from childish humor and ex wife jokes you will probably like it. Its not great, but its good enough to keep me looking forward to the next episode.
Makes sense, he’s written a lot of heavily comedic Star Trek novels. “Strike Zone” was one of my favorites. “Q-in-law,” too.
