H. G. Wells is probably my favorite classic author. War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, and The Invisible Man are all great stories, and they all had a profound impact on me when I was young. The following covers for The Invisible Man mostly feature the same motif of the classic image of the bandages unraveling to reveal there is nothing underneath. That is such an iconic image, and it is neat to see all of these different artists putting their stamp on it.

  1. Another superb collection of covers. My favourites are the comic book style with the angry mob on the hill, and the bottom left which reminds me of Blade Runner for some odd reason. The novels of Wells and their film adaptions also had a profound impact on me when I was young. I think I had nightmares for years following the book and film of War of the Worlds.

  2. Thanks. I think that is my favorite cover too. It definitely stands out of the crowd…so to speak anyway. I feel like because of War of the Worlds, my first instinct in fighting an alien invasion would be to try and sneeze on them.
